Larsen traps, ladder traps and other multi-traps are used, mostly by gamekeepers to kill magpies, crows and rooks but also birds of prey (raptors). Increasingly bloodsport groups like hide their true motives behind conservation especially the Songbird Survival Trust.

The practice of trapping crows has been widely carried out on Scottish 'sporting' estates using Ladder traps. This video, by a member of the public, shows a Ladder trap containing a badly injured crow as well as a healthy one, stagnant water and dead rabbits .
