Larsen traps are banned in their country of origin because they are viewed as inhumane, they are still legal in the UK.
Larsen traps, ladder traps and other multi-traps are used, mostly by gamekeepers to kill magpies, crows and rooks but also birds of prey (raptors). Increasingly bloodsport groups like hide their true motives behind conservation especially the Songbird Survival Trust.
